Cedar is naturally decay resistant so you can confidently plant directly in the box without the hassle of a liner or the worry that you will damage your planter. We never build any of our products with pallet, ply or cheap rot prone pine and we certainly would never make a planter from thin sheet metal that will rust through almost immediately. Not only is cedar one of very few premium choices for planters but you can trust us to use non-toxic untreated cedar. Compare our Raised Cedar Gardens to those less valuable and you will notice that we take care to brace the boards frequently throughout to prevent warping and separating of the boards. Additionally we finely sand the entire piece.

Please be careful with the woods you are selecting for your planter. Some even advertise "MB pallet wood." MB stands for methyl bromide. That is NOT a good thing if you plan to plant anything edible.
